KC native Matt Besler (BV West, KCFC Alliance, Kansas 87 ODP, Notre Dame) was selected in the 1st Round (8th overall) by the Kansas City Wizards in the Major League Soccer SuperDraft. In the second round the Wizards selected Michigan State forward Doug DeMartin (22nd overall) and Maryland midfielder Graham Zusi (23rd overall). In the fourth round the Wizards drafted St. John's goalkeeper Neal Kitson (42nd overall) and in the fifth round selected UConn midfielder Akeem Priestley (50th overall).
